Inhaled: Poisonous if inhaled. May irritate the nose and throat.
Injected: Would not normally present an injection problem.

First Aid Facilities:
Advice to Doctor Poisoning by abamectin may cause neurological symptoms.
Abamectin acts on specific synapses located within the brain, which
are protected by the blood/brain barrier. In mammals, this is
penetrated at only very high concentrations. Treat symptomatically.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Exposure Standards: Recommended use patterns for this product should not result in
atmospheric contamination.
Engineering Control: Recommended use patterns for this product should not result in
atmospheric contamination.
Personal Protection: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale vapour. Wear cotton
overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, washable hat, elbow-length
PVC gloves and goggles. Before eating, drinking or smoking, wash
hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water. After each
day’s use, wash gloves, goggles and contaminated clothing.
Flammability: Not flammable. Combustible

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION

Storage: Store away from direct sunlight at less the 30OC (room temperature).
Keep out of reach of children.
Transport: Not classified as a Dangerous Good for the purposes of road or rail
transport.
Spills: Soak spills into porous material (sand, soil, vermiculite), place in
sealed containers and dispose of in an approved landfill. When
abamectin comes into contact with soil, it readily and tightly binds to
the soil and becomes inactive over time.
Disposal: Triple or (preferably) pressure rinse emptied containers. Do not
dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and
return clean container to point of supply. If not recycling, break, crush
or puncture and bury empty containers in local authority landfill. If not
available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit
specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways,
vegetation and roots. Empty containers and product should not be
burnt. Highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not
contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with chemical or used
container.
Fire/Explosion Hazard: Combustible. Keep containers cool with water spray. Extinguishing
media: water spray, foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, BCF.
